Proclamation in the Prairie (Jan 13-14 2023)

While on the road to Damascus, the Apostle Paul was stopped in his tracks by Jesus Christ.  His encounter with Christ made Paul realize that God doesn’t play by the rules and treats people in an unfair manner.  Later, he would write in his letter to the Romans that the whole of the Old Testament shows God to be this way.  We see it especially in God’s promise made to Abraham.  Paul said it succinctly in Romans 3:21 “But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it.”  It’s fair to say that the impact of this truth on Martin Luther was revolutionary.  In fact, God’s righteousness apart from the law launched the Reformation.

Pastor’s Perspective: Lectionary Studies

A large part of our mission at Luther House of Study is to support pastors and provide resources to congregations. This is fulfilled through a variety of educational offerings, and we are always looking for new ways to innovate and reach new audiences.

Reflecting on Proclamation in the Prairie

In January, we hosted our Proclamation in the Prairie event — an annual two-day conference featuring fellowship, worship, brunch, and of course, teaching sessions.

We are grateful to have had this opportunity to worship together and to teach about Luther’s evangelical breakthrough of the righteousness of God.
